Frequently Asked Questions

Where are we located?

Our offices are located in the city of Adelaide Your classes are predominantly delivered online via live Zoom sessions with our professional musicians and trainers. This allows you to do much of your course from the comfort of your own home, where you have ready access to your own instruments and technologies (and not having to pack them up and travel every day! At set times through the term, our live performance workshops are face to face and located at various music industry venues across Adelaide. This is designed to introduce you to a variety of stage, lighting and sound engineering set ups, as well as venue operations.

I don’t have Zoom, what do I do?

That’s fine, it’s easy! Zoom is a free app to download, which can be run from any computer/iPad/smart phone device.

How much does the course cost?

Our courses are government subsidised, which means that if you are eligible: it is low, or no cost to you. The eligibility criteria is that you can not access this funding whilst you are still at School, so if you have left School it is very likely that you are eligible. We are here to help, so please contact us regarding your eligibility.

Is this Program a music course, or a sound course?

Your Program spans multiple topics. We cover: music performance, composition, live and recording sound, as well as music industry. To put it simply: it’s a fantastic all-round preparation for the music industry!

I don’t play an instrument, can I do the course?

We consider enrolments for anyone that is really interested in music and is willing to learn. Having said that, if you have little or no instrument experience whatsoever, you may find some aspects challenging. However, if you love to sing and/or are proficient in programming music you will love this course!

I play multiple instruments, do I need to focus on one in particular?

Not necessarily, but the more instruments that you focus on may limit your progress overall – there’s only so many hours in a day! We are always here to help you to decide the best direction for you.

I’m a beginner, can I do the course?

Complete beginners are encouraged to develop their skillset before considering an application for our Program. However, if you have some experience already then our Programs could be the perfect pathway for you. Of course, please contact us if you have any questions.

Who are our trainers?

You will learn from not only music industry professionals who each have worked with national and international acts, but they also have an emphasis on making students feel comfortable and enjoy their learning process. They deliver a very inspiring training method for you to get the very best from yourself and your Program experience.  It is an awesome thing!

Will I get to play with other musicians?

Of course. Some of our courses require students to rehearse and perform with other students, but we also gather video recordings of your solo performances (online) for assessment.

What kind of things will I learn?

We are all about tailoring and individualising your learning outcomes to your music preferences. Our music section covers performance and composition, some in solo and some in group form. There are also live and recording sound classes, as well as music industry and event management topics. To put it simply: it’s a fantastic all-round preparation for the music industry!

What will I get at the end of the course?

At the conclusion of the course you will have a higher level of knowledge, experience, ability and confidence with your own music and the key areas of the music industry. You will be awarded with your qualification and parchment upon successful completion. Moreover, you will also meet and develop relationships with our trainers and other students, which is in many ways the most valuable of all.
